It seems like forever since I have had time to post. In January we put our house on the market. It has been very fun trying to sell our house….NOT! Brandon’s Step Father Dan is our realtor and has been working hard but the market is just not what it used to be. We will be happy if we get what we owe on it. Please keep that in your prayers, it would be a blessing if we could sell it! Brandon has been working full time since May when he graduated. He has also been writing a book for Manning publishing called iPhone and iPad in Action if you want to check it out feel free to click the link.
Cayden has been talking so much. He started talking at about 8 month old and his language has been growing ever since. He started with the word Dog and now says so many things. He says “bite” when he wants any of my or Daddy’s food. ”More” when he wants more. ”Whats thats?” “I Know” “Pa pa” “Ma ma” “Dah Dah” etc. He calls Brandon’s cousin Justin “Jupin” outside “ouside” ”rock” (which he likes to put in his mouth). ”Up” “down” please “Peas” “Poo Poo” when he needs to go to the rest room. Its absolutely crazy how quickly they learn and change in one year! Its insane! My Dad bought Cayden the My Baby Can Read series of movies and flash cards and he is beginning to recognize the words. Im very excited to see his growth over the next couple months.
We have been busy, but what is new? In mid January I was blessed to have the opportunity to go out to California with my best friends (Sachi, Vanessa, and Tamara). We went to DisneyLand and explored California. It was a short trip but a wonderful one! While I was in Cali Brandon and Cayden went to Arizona to see Mark and Angie (Brandon’s Dad and Step Mom). Cayden had so much fun with his “Papa Mark” he loved going to the park and playing in their front yard. Mark took him to Angie’s work (Deer Valley Credit Union) and Cayden was being shy and hugged Mark as tight as he could. He went to the park with Brandon’s Grandma also. We have a video of Cayden running to “Chee Chee” (GG= Great Grandma). It was great trip for all of us but I did miss my boys.
About two weeks ago my friend Tamara came to NM to visit her family and took some pictures of Cayden. We had a pretty nice snow storm and she photographed him playing in the snow and at the park by our house. He is so photogenic and of course the cutest thing I have ever seen! Tamara recently graduated from Brooks Institute with a Bachelors in Photography and is really talented. she takes most of Cayden’s photos and we are so lucky to have her….plus Cayden loves her to death! We hope you enjoy the pictures. Hopefully I will be able to update more.

Its been a while since I have been able to post anything to the blog…..that should tell you how busy Cayden has kept me! (he is currently napping)
We had Cayden’s birthday party this Saturday. Around 25 people came and it was Sesame Street themed. He had such a good time although he made a schrunchy face at everyone that said “Hi” to him . We ate pizza, opened presents, and watched Cayden cover himself in cupcake.
Grandpa Mike Bought him a activity box that has four sides of fun stuff to entertain and the wires with different color circle beads that go along the wire on top.

Grandpa and Grandma Dunning bought him a big wheel bike and gave him the book The Giving Tree that Kathie had kept from when Brandon was little. It was his favorite book and it was the first book Brandon read to his mom and the age of six. Which was written in the book.

Grandma Anne and Nana bought him a fisher price learning table. It sings and speaks spanish.
G.G. (Great Grandma Boule) bought him If You Give A Moose A Muffin
Great Aunt Terri gave him the beautiful ducks on wheels that were hand made in Florida
He received so many wonderful presents. I love that he will have a large library of books to read since that is his favorite thing to do. He also now has tons of winter clothes including and warm black coat my Dad bought him and a hat that matches from my best friend Vanessa.
His party was wonderful and was so much fun. Cayden was exhausted afterward and fell asleep quickly after everyone left. Thank you to all the people who came and all the people who sent Cayden birthday cards and gifts. You all are a blessing!
More News……
November 3rd Cayden took his first steps. He can take two and sometimes three but then he just bends over and starts crawling. Im excited for him to start walking since he is the weight and height of a two year old but I still have to carry him through the stores. He has learned how to throw fits very well and Brandon and I have had some tough times lately but thanks to family and friends advise we are learning to ignore the anger and he is learning to not scream anytime he is not getting exactly what he wants.
A couple new things Cayden enjoys:
-the vacuum
-anything outside even though its freezing
-everything Mommy and Daddy are eating even if he just finished his food
-the Yoda toy my Dad gave him to play with over Halloween

-pulling every movie we own off of the shelf
-unloading our bathroom drawers and then taking the items one by one to the bath tub and throwing it in
-pan lids
-playing in the toilet (daddy forgot to shut the door and I was unloading the dishwasher)
-helping me unload the dishes from he dishwasher onto the floor
-anything dog
-the stairs at Grandpa and Grandma Dunning’s
-pianos
-licking the kitchen floor when he thinks I’m not looking
Hopefully I will have time to update more often…..but I wont get my hopes up! ha ha
Until next time!

Life has changed for us YET again!
Cayden started crawling on July 22nd. It was such a wonderful/proud day for us! Little did we know it was the beginning to a whole other life style.
Morning starts out with making sure every door is shut. Vacuuming has become an everyday or twice a day thing. Nothing is safe anymore every cord must be unplugged because if its not he finds it and wants to chew on it! Our beautiful little white dog is now shaved down to her nickers because her hair has become a choking hazard. Everything from the DVD player to the x box is now a toy he can pull off of the entertainment center. With in one week he went from a little worm that was scooting to a little boy crawling up the jail cell of his crib and onto the coffee table to grab any and everything within reach.
Daddy works from home but anytime the office door opens a fire lights in Cayden’s eyes and off he goes like a race horse. It becomes a fit if Daddy doesn’t stop and hug him or allow him into the office to play with the guitars or keyboard and mouse. The doggy door has kept him busy for hours. Watching it flip back and forth. When Anberlyn (our dog) decides to play with her toys or chew on her rawhide it’s funny watching the dog move from spot to spot just hoping he wont follow her and attempt to either grab her hair or help chew on her toy.
Today while loading the dishwasher he actually managed to get one leg on top of the door without me noticing. Unloading the groceries is also a fun task because it is almost impossible to keep him from climbing into the vegetable drawer or into the pantry. I have caught him licking the kitchen floor and eating the remote. I used to have glade plug ins and my house would smell like “fresh linen” or “rain forest” now the diaper genie no longer masks the smell of carrot poop and potty diapers it has been grounded to the garage for not doing its job correctly!
Cayden loves being outside to the point of spending a lot of his day going to and from the living room to the front door where he repeatedly hits the door reciting his favorite word “dah”. Speaking of words he has made a distinct difference between the word “dah” and “dog”. If I haven’t mentioned it before Cayden is completely fascinated with Anberlyn, well any dog that he can come in contact with. I am sure he is going to love animals. We started saying “dog” and pointing at Anberlyn, Van (Grandpa Dan’s dog), Maggi (Uncle Phil’s dog), and Zack and Duke (Grandpa Mike’s dog) about a month ago. Last week he started saying “dog” its so cute seeing him get so excited. He also is clapping and playing patty cake with me.
He is growing way to fast. While I put him to sleep I often stare at his beautiful face and think to myself how much longer will I be able carry you in my arms? How much longer will you allow me to kiss and pinch your chubby cheeks? It goes by to fast but I guess I need to focus on the beautiful growth and excitement to come and not the stuff I will desperately miss. Cayden is such a handful yet so much fun. Its funny how much trouble he is already getting into. I cant help but think of how blessed I am to have a wonderful husband who helps me keep track of him. I couldn’t imagine being a single mom, how they manage to get anything done is beyond me! God continues to be amazing to us and I am in awe of how much he has given and continues to bless us with. I look forward to talking to Cayden about Jesus. Telling him all the stories my Nana always told me. She reminded me the other day of some of the songs her and I would sing like “The Fruit of the Spirit” and “This Little Light of Mine” and it made me so happy to think of all the wonderful things Brandon and I will be able to teach him soon. Its been wonderful having time to write this blog and know that people love reading it and keeping up on my little angel’s life and new accomplishments. Thank you all for reading we love you and miss you!
Living in His grace,

So life is a little bit different now! I am finally 6 months old and growing like crazy. The Doctors says I am in the 90th percentile for my height and weight. Im not sure what that means but I know that Grandpa Mike is always telling Mommy Im going to be a football player. Mommy hasnt been keeping everyone up to date because I keep her so busy.
On March 11th I rolled over for the first time. Mommy and Daddy were so proud, I didnt roll over all the time after that but every once in a while I would. Now Im rolling all the time.
On March 12th I sat up on my own for over a minute. Mommy and Daddy made jokes that at the rate I was going I would be talking by the end of the week. From then on I loved being upright. Although I still prefer standing or jumping.

On April 2nd Mommy and Daddy let me sleep in my own crib. I enjoyed being in the bassinet and being so close to them but I needed room to stretch my arms. Now I sleep so well in my own room. I listen to my Baby Einstein Lullabies that Grandma Anne bought me for Christmas and dream about wonderful things.

On April 30th Mommy fed me my first bite of rice cereal. I loved it and it felt so good in my tummy all night long. Soon after I tried peas and carrots and now Im also eating oatmeal with bananas which is my favorite. But I still like my cuddle time with Mommy and my bottle, and I think Mommy likes it too. She wont put me down to sleep sometimes until Daddy begs her!

My favorite things to do right now are go visit Grandpa Mike and his puppies and when Grandma Anne comes over and spends the day with me. I love when Auntie Shannon and Uncle Ryan come to visit, and of course to play with my favorite cousin Jake. Im so excited to meet my new cousin in October and have him come to my 1st birthday party. I also like to spit, chew on my fingers or anything I can get my hands on and hit the mirror with my hands. I like to flirt with my Tias and My Nicki (Mommy’s friends). I love when Daddy and I play with Anberlyn my puppy, well I love anything with Daddy. He is my favorite and Mommy is jealous that I will copy Daddy when he says “Da Da” to me. I also like when Grandpa Dan takes me outside and when Grandma Kathie gives me kisses. Im not to fond of taking naps but I sleep for 11-13 hours at night so Im sure Im fine without alot of them although Mommy tries all the time because I tend to get grumpy! Oh an I love to play with Daddy’s computer mouse….I think Im going to like computers just like Dad!

Well life as I know it is pretty fun! I really couldnt ask for more God has blessed me tremendously and Mommy and Daddy seem to love me alot!
Love always,
Cayden Robert

I think my chin is growing faster than my belly!
Time is flying! It seems like yesterday I was looking at Halloween and thinking “I’ll be so close to my due date then” and here it is. Thankfully I feel better than I thought I would at this point. Nicki one of my close friends reminds me that I am acting “very pregnant” and I now Brandon likes to use that term also. I’m assuming they are politely telling me I am being grumpy. I dont mean to be so moody I think its that about 75% or more of my day is spent in discomfort. I hate thinking about trying to find something to wear. My maternity jeans are tight on my already tight feeling stomach which leaves me the options of my gauchos or my yoga pants. I hate leaving the house looking like I am still wearing my pajamas. My feet are a bit swollen so I cant wear my tennis shoes, and I hate to even look in the direction of my what used to be comfortable heels! I’m stuck with flip flops, ballet looking flats, and my oh so wonderful Uggs. The issue with wearing my heavely winter Uggs is that I am in gauchos most of my time, so 2 inches of skin between shoes and pants…NOT FLATTERING! Complain, complain, and more complaining…..I swear I’m actually feeling great!
I feel wonderful, I am still able to sleep pretty well (aside from peeing every hour). Everything is really wonderful and I know I will look back and miss feeling his feet pressed up against my ribs! I look forward to his unconditional love for me, and his need for what I have! I love thinking that for the first time in my life (other than Brandon) I will have someone that loves me more than anyone else. I look forward to seeing Brandon hold him and be so excited when he gets home from work, that he runs straight to pick him up with out even thinking that he forgot to kiss his wife! I am so excited for the blessings that this one little person will bring to our life. I set up his bassinet in our room and I love waking up and seeing it sitting there with little green, blue and brown blankets in it! Ahhhh does anyone own a time machine so I can rush through these last 2 weeks! Im so anxious!
We carved pumpkins with my dad last night. Suprisingly it was the first time that Brandon and I have done this together. 5 years and we never carved a pumpkin……Crazy couple! It was great! He drew the face, I carved it and he cleaned it. Dad’s pumpkin wasnt nearly as cool as ours. Brandon said his looked like a cross dresser becasue my dad outlined his lips with marker and it looked like it had lipstick! Its fun to be able to do this stuff with my dad. The last Halloween we spent together I was in 4th grade. We went shopping as Sam’s club for candy on Wednesday and I specifically told him not to buy chocolate for the kids because I knew he would end up eating it. My dad had a heart attack on Christmas of last year and still is in danger of having another due to his desire of, eating out, refusing to take his meds, and “snacks at night”. He claims his way of thinking and “the force” will keep him from having another. I can guarantee the bowl of minature chocolate candies will be gone by 5 tonight! Oh well, all I can do is tell him once, ok three or four times but who is counting!
I decided to be a pumpkin for Halloween. Creative huh? I bought an orange shirt and pasted black felt eyes and smile on my belly with a green stem at the top. It will be cute. I debated between slutty Dorthy and the Jacklantern costume for hours. The Pumpkin is probably more appropriate for me at this time! HA HA! there is always next year! Well off to another doctors appointment I go. Maybe I’ll just go into labor while Im there and save myself the extra trip! Wouldnt that be great!

The Nursery is in its final stages.
Brandon and I (well mostly Brandon…hehe) painted about two weeks ago. A sand color on three walls and a bright “Jalapeno Garden” on one wall as an accent. We decided to keep the guest bed in the room since Brandon will still be in school while the baby is young. I want to be able to stay in the other room with the little one on test nights and such. I still have a couple of finishing touches to complete. Such as restoring the rocking horse Brandon’s Grandpa Robert built for him as a baby. Which is by far my favorite part of the room. I also have a shelf I am going to stain and put up with the babies name on it (once we decide on one). I have painted some letters spelling “AHOY” and two palm trees to put up also but I have not decided where. I hope you enjoy the pictures and I look forward to posting more once I have the baby and finish the room!
Thank you to all of our family who contributed to our baby’s nursery! Love you!
